Rob wired his Fisher Fury R1 from scratch and learnt a lot when designing the Fury R1's electrical system. Many of the techniques used then are being employed with the OSSEV®:
- Crimp and solder all connections whenever possible, to ensure high reliability.
- Use uniquely coloured wiring between the key elements of the electrical system, to simplify diagnosis should any issues arise.
- Use suitable fuses to provide power to the key elements of the electrical system.
- Use a relay to deliver high current when required and to minimise the amount of high current wiring.
- Use the lightest/thinest wire possible for each given power requirement, to save as much weight as possible. Thinner wire is also cheaper.
