Entertainment System

The plan is for the OSSEV® to have a premium audio system and a large centrally mounted touch screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We have already purchased two displays and these are being tested.

Speakers

Quality audio in our cars is important to us and the OSSEV® is no exception. In fact, it is even more important in an EV as they are much quieter and poor quality audio becomes much evident.

Integrated in to the interior will be a number of speakers, with suitably designed audio chambers and sound proofing. Two mid-range speakers will be mounted in the doors, along with separate driver/passenger tweeters on top of the dash. There will also be two more mid-range speakers behind the seats and a further two driver/passenger facing tweeters behind the head rests. There will also be an option of an active sub-woofer behind the seats and centrally mounted.

Smartphones

The entertainments system of the OSSEV® is going to be based around a smartphone compatible, 3rd party head unit that supports both Android and Apple smartphones. It simply doesn't make sense to re-invent this stuff. It will feature a large central display that support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

As part of this, the OSSEV® will feature a secure phone mounting place, with changeable wireless charging modules that can be fitted to suit your phone.

Head Unit

Rather than tying owners to specific hardware and electronics, the plan is to provide a space in the dash for standard sized head units and larger displays. These will be standalone devices and have no links to the car, other than power and the speakers. This allows the owner to choose a device that meets their needs in terms of complexity, features, aethestics and budget.

Satellite Navigation

The satnav function will not be part of the OSSEV® but, will be via your chosen app on your smartphone. This gives the owner a choice of Tom Tom, Apple, Google, Waze, etc.
