To keep the costs lower, our car is using standard 12V dc LED lighting. It will all be controlled via a CAN Bus.
The OSSEV® will feature LED headlights that match the OSSEV® logo.
The OSSEV® will feature LED front and rear side lights which may also act as daytime running lights.
The OSSEV® will have front and rear LED daytime running lights but, these may be the same physical lights as the side lights. Thesde are enabled by the Driver Control Unit (DCU), so they cannot be left on.
The side repeaters design will reflect the OSSEV® logo.
In the MX-5e we are using the CF14 JL-02 electronic flasher module as this provides a fixed rate regardless of load. This means we can use OEM bulb fitting and modern LED lighting interchangeably without affecting the flash rate. We are also designing the front indicators to disable the front side lights when in use, to improve visibility of the indicator lighting.
The rear light cluster has been designed to reflect the OSSEV® logo. It will be a design feature and they will not sit flush with the bodywork, much like the lights on the rear of this Ferrari 458 Italia.
We love how the rear lights run the whole width of our CUPRA Born and this is something we are also going to do on the OSSEV®.
The high level brake light will also follow the OSSEV® logo shape.
The rear brake light has rules under which it must operate during regenerative braking.
The rear fog light will follow the styling of the other rear lights.
The reversing light will follow the styling of the other rear lights.
The number plate lights will be integrated into the bodywork and invisible unless viewed from below.
The OSSEV® will feature subtle footwell lighting that will be white, in keeping with the instrument lighting.
